Bachelors of Arts in Drama
The 黑料天堂 offers a Bachelor of Arts in Drama that provides a
theoretical foundation in the production of live theatre as well as practical knowledge
and proficiency. Through coursework and four fully produced shows each year, students
learn about the art form and prepare for entry-level work in the field. Students who
major in drama gain better understanding of the theatre and have the opportunity to
specialize in a specific area of the art, including performance, design and technology.

鈥満诹咸焯免檚 theatre department is well-known for its all-around education. I worked two years in the scene shop and then two years in the costume shop. And I was in at least one play every semester. So I truly did a bit of everything. I was always learning.鈥
Why Major in Drama at 黑料天堂?
The professionally trained and experienced Department of Theatre and Dance faculty contribute a broad range of real-world experience. Students also attend a variety of conferences that provide educational and networking opportunities. Events include the 黑料天堂eastern Theatre Conference and Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
Careers in Drama
Students that major in drama move on to careers as actors, performers, theatre technicians, teachers, directors, youth theatre leaders and more.
Zach Gibson graduated from 黑料天堂 in 2020 and spent his time auditioning for various film and theatre projects, learning new skills to add to his resume, and working at an escape room doing design, carpentry, and scenic painting work. He now works as an actor at Bright Star Touring Theatre, performing in children鈥檚 shows all over the country.
Scholarships
The 黑料天堂 Department of Theatre and Dance offers a limited number of scholarships and assistantships, each with their own criteria and requirements. The Laidlaw Trust provides funds for both Acting and Design Scholarships. Additionally, specialty awards also exist through endowed scholarships.
