Pathway USA Expands to Pensacola State College
Posted on October 19, 2018
The ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ today announced that Pensacola State College has become part of βPathway USA,β a collaborative program between the ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ and select community and state colleges that creates a seamless transition to USA for transfer students who earn their associateβs degree.
Pensacola State College is the fourth institution to join the program. The academic partnership will enable more PSC graduates to transfer to ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ and earn their bachelorβs degrees from USA.
βThe ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ has historically enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with Pensacola State College, and Pathway USA is a natural outgrowth of our relationship,β said Dr. Tony Waldrop, ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ president. βBoth institutions are strongly committed to helping students achieve their degrees in a timely manner and with a minimum of expense. Todayβs agreement is an important step in enhancing those goals.β
ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ currently enjoys similar partnerships with Coastal Alabama Community College, Bishop State Community College and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
βPathway USAβs agreement with Pensacola State College takes effect immediately and is geared toward students who are not admitted at USA as well as students who may simply prefer to begin their college education at PSC,β said Dr. Edward Meadows, Pensacola State College president.
PSC students may choose to have a copy of their USA application and supporting documents forwarded to PSC for admission consideration. Students already attending PSC may also apply for Pathway USA. A unique application will be created and available for PSC students to complete and submit.
PSC students who enter the Pathway USA program will have unique benefits, such as:
- Guaranteed admission to USA upon successful completion (cumulative grade-point average of 2.0 or higher) of the associateβs degree
- A USA academic advisor assigned to them who will provide individual guidance on course selection and map out degree plans
- Special discounts through USAβs Jaguar Productions
- Complimentary admission to ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ Alabama home athletic events
Persons wanting additional information on Pathway USA at the ΊΪΑΟΜμΜΓ are urged to contact USAβs Admissions Office at 251-460-7834 or Recruitment@southalabama.edu or Sheila Nichols, PSC executive director of marketing and communications, at 850-484-1428 or snichols@pensacolastate.edu.
